Hi, you can download and install RealVNC from www.realvnc.com, but to be able to connect to your computer, you must be online on the one you want to connect to, and VNC must be installed on both computers. I use it myself and it's good, but you must set stuff up like graphics of what you will see on the remotely connected computer. Give it a try

use remote desktop from microsoft all windows xp have it
you just have to right click on my computer icon go to properties and choose on the remote tab and click on the box that says "allow users to connect remotly to this computer"
and if you have a firewall you need to open up the port for it
if you dont have windows xp you can download remote desktop form microsoft, sorry i dont remember the url though.
once you have enabled it just get your public ip from your computer you can do this by goin to start -> run then type CMD
in the command prompt type "ipconfig" if your not connected with a router the address is goin to be where it says ip address those are the number you enter when starting remotedesktop to the computer you want to connect
ps. your user account will need to have a password so it can be used remotely.
if your going to use programs remotely its goin to be as fast as your connection speed.

There are multiple solutions. There are software programs like PC Anywhere and GoToMyPC that make it simple, once installed. If you're using XP, you can establish a remote desktop connection. (start/all programs/accessories/communications/remote desktop).
If you have a static IP address at home you can also set up a VPN, but if you're asking this question, the setup is probably beyond your skills.

there are alot of ways to do this.
you can use a remote control software such as VNC, or you could enable remote desktop on your computer so that you can log in remotely.
a pretty good site that is easy to use is GoToMyPC.com. For non-technical users this is the best option.
