I have already used DVD Shrink to make a backup copy of my DVD. I do not want to use Nero, instead I would like to use my own DVD program which is Roxio. I tried moving the files to a dvd disk but it would not play on a dvd player. How can I burn by backup DVD into a dvd using Roxio (and that plays on a DVD player)?

That depends on what version of Roxio you have. If you have one of the newer version you will select the classic creator when it opens it will have some tab in the middle section of the page and you can select which type of disc you are going to create. Select DVD in and then drop the files you want burned to disc in the bottom area, one you finish click the Roxio symbol at the bottom to burn to disc. If your are trying to backup DVD just click the disc copier function and select which drive the original disk is in and which drive the DVD will be burned in. Both the source drive and destination drive can have the same location.

No, you can't copy dvd files to a blank disc and get it to play; copy protection. Many dvd backup apps won't let you make copies from the backup dvd you created. I use two apps to make my dvd copies; DVD43 strips the protection from the original disc and 1 Click DVD Copy to burn the disk. 1 Click is shareware and I'm not sure how much it costs. DVD43 is free.

Hope this helps you.

Isn't that copyright infringement?
