With the overall costs of running the royal family increasing above the limit each year.
The royal public finances report said the Queen's family and household are spending 37.5 million pounds, a 4.5% INCREASE from the previouse year, costing the TAXPAYER an EXTRA one pence MORE a year,
Now my earlier question was why are we still keeping the royal family?? do we really need them? forget about national pride, yes they will go down the history books they will always be in history books, so pple will still know about us.
about the national treasure, that tourists are coming to england coz of the royal family, what about the millions we spend to maintain them???
Dont you think its time we get rid of them???
they can practice their royalty within their own families not on TAXPAYERS money??

If you want to rid of the Monarchy, that is perfectly fine. But the argument that it costs too much money is entirely faulty. If the Royal Family were disinherited and a Republic instated, there would still be a Head of State (probably a President, just like France, Ireland, Germany, etc.) This Head of State would cost the tax payers nearly, if not as much, as the current Monarchy. All palaces would remain open for the new President, he/ she would have every bit as much expenditures as the Monarchy.

Now if you want a Republic for the sake of the people or because you believe that no person should inherit a place of prestige, then that is entirely different.

sure, sure, sure! If some public servant became operating each and every of the palaces and organising human beings to satisfy, greet and dine travelling dignitaries, he/she would earn lots extra and under no circumstances do it as well. Tourism is higher by utilizing the total royal paraphernalia, that's something different international places envy. Britain does no longer pay the Queen for being the only contained in the centre of vacation makers' videos and major events.

It's totally time to get rid of them or else let them work away at being royal but without our money.

I'm not a Brit, but I do think it's dumb to have a royal family.
