Ever eat crawfish? They also have buggy eyes and antennae, but that doesn't stop us from biting the tails and sucking the heads! Once, a long time ago, I tried chocolate covered ants. Weird taste.

I bet its not the same texture and we don't eat the eyes and antennae. You remove the head first. I live in South Florida, so I'm a seafood lover. Lobster and snowcrab are good too. Sorry if I gross you out but I also like clams and oysters.

well, thier parents may eat shrimp and so they don't think it's out of the ordinary. But a bug can easily be found out side on the ground or in a tree, And they may not know anyone who eats bugs, so they think it is disgusting.

Roaches actually sounds pretty good right about now.
My gf/wife is cooking tonight. Canned tuna and boxed macaroni is her forte.
Ocean roaches, worms, maggots all sound preferable to what I have to look forward to tonight.

LMAO, ocean roaches! Well, they are so meaty and juicy and pleasantly pink and succulent...real roaches aren't nearly as appealing and don't have as much meat! Plus you can cut off their heads, rip off their shells, and slice out their nasty spines, and you've got yourself a real delicacy! Fried, steamed, grilled with bacon, boiled in gumbo, or wrapped in sushi, dipped in cocktail sauce...shrimps is good eatin'!

Because shrimp are made to be eaten by humans. You barely ever see their eyes and antennae when they are being served for food.

Has Fear Factor gotten hold of this information as yet? I can see it now.
"For your next stunt, contestants, you must eat 43 of these shrimp swimming in a bucket of butter. If you fail to do this in 2 minutes, you'll will have to eat this crab soaked in lemon, and a lobster in hollandaise sauce." I can see them all barfing now!

This could be husband posting this question! He hates all forms of seafood and shellfish for the precise reasons you just gave. I think when most of us eat shrimp they've been beheaded, deveined, and peeled. This allows us to hold on to our illusions. Crunch!

Shrimp don't fly around my porch light or crawl in my garbage. As far as I am concerned shrimp come with a tasty brown crunchy crust and love to swim in cocktail sauce. It's my delusion, don't mess with it!
