wow I'm #55 in 30 minutes! What a question you have here. :)
I didn't take the time to read the other answers so if I repeat stuff.....forgive me master.
Which brings me to say that I would prefer to be a slave in Heaven. I was never good at the "ruler" persona and I really wouldn't want to do do it in "hell" and sweat my way through leadership. Besides.......imagine all of the people that would be my followers? Not really the most upstanding citizens that I would trust to do my bidding. Whose to know when they would plan a mutiny and take over my kingdom? I'm into trust.......and I'm not sensing I would find that there.
A slave in heaven? Well at least I would know that the things i'm asked to do would have beauty and purpose. I never mind doing for others if they have purpose and validity. So that would never be a problem. A slave doesn't necessarily mean I was abused........just ready to serve. So I'd put on my apron and get my tool box **blows the cobwebs off of it** and be ready to serve. :)

What kind of ruler in hell? You mean like the demons and centaurs in Dante's Inferno, who force others to stay in their place and suffer for eternity, yet they themselves are taking part in the suffering since they cannot be happy in Hell? Or do you mean like an absolute ruler, like the God of Hell? If it were the latter, then I guess I would want to be the ruler, because I don't feel anyone deserves eternal suffering and I would forgive everyone over time or even immediately. But if you mean the first one, then definately a slave in heaven, since I really don't mind serving and I don't want to be burning forever and ever.
Of course, I don't believe in hell, but this was a fun question and I've basically read Dante's Inferno and so I wanted to show off :)

That quote from Dante's Inferno has been a controversial topic for centuries. The problem with the quote is that it is not accurate. Those who are in heaven are not slaves. The Bible says that we will live and REIGN with Christ.
Satan, however, could not accept the fact that he was a created being and not the most high God. He forfeited his position in heaven as the most exalted of God's creations to rule in a place of endless pain and torment.
If you take the quote at face value, you have to decide whether you want to live in a place of joy and love and accept a lesser role or whether you want to rule a place filled with pain, suffering, loneliness, emptiness, and a place where you will be separated from God forever.

There are no such things as SLAVES IN HEAVEN. There is only ONE ruler in HELL! Live your life righteously and you may find out the truth of all the allegations, in regards to heaven and hell. I for one, see HELL all around me each day, here on this blue orb, spinning in space. If you believe you can rule this place, go ahead and try, your failure is inevitable. Many before you have tried to rule this HELL we live on. Your turn, eh? I suggest that you concentrate your life to the betterment of those around you, to making this hell into a heavenly place where all can be happy. Doesn't that sound like a better IDEA. I'd rather be happy in HEAVEN, than tortured, disfigured, razed, and defiled, as those in HELL. If your going to RULE there, give my regards to the Fallen ONE, he's been in charge there from the beginning! Good Luck Wanna be!!!

A slave in heaven, because a slave is treated as the master and the master as a slave. The equity is more tolerable. As a ruler in hell you have a very short time to enjoy your power.

Dear Lone,
To be in heaven is the greatest and highest good anyone can experience! Those that will be with the Lord in heaven will still be servants of God but the Lord speaks of these as kings (Jesus is King of kings and LORD of lords). In 1 John 3, the Lord says that we will see Him as He is and we shall be like Him (sorry I cannot quote the verses).
However, those who go to hell are under the wrath of God and that is forever! There is no plee bargains, no time offf for good behavior, no pardons... The Lord pictures it as a lake of fire and the smoke of the torment of those thein, goes up forever and ever!! It is also described in Deuteronomy 28 of the Bible. If you would like further info type www.familyradio.com into your web browser. I hope this will help you. Oh yeah, satan will be the first one cast into the lake of fire!

I have to answer this honestly. In heaven there isn't any slaves, we have paid for our sins here on earth so when we get to heaven we get to have a relationship with Jesus and his father. We all have our places here on earth and up in heaven, and for the people that say ruler in hell, sorry hell has one ruler and that is Satan. You will be a slave in hell.

First off, no one would ever be a slave in heaven. Secondly, Milton provides a good answer to your question in "Paradise Lost" (when Lucifer fell into the pit).
Third, I plan on being a landowner in Purgatory. Yikes.
