Use a nail clipper then file for a clean look. Don't forget a cuticle clipper and oil.
If you have long slender fingers, cut your nail straight across for a square tip.

i cut the nail square with a nail cutter, then I file the edges to be round. don't file the sides of your nails too much, because it causes them to be brittle. you're supposed to follow the little white mark (half moon type thing) underneath your nail as the shape of your nails.....good luck! hope this helps....with regular grooming, they actually stay really nice, and the nails stay strong

Use nailclippers and if you don't want to cut your nails to short ask your parents to help.

When you buy a nail set they usually come with those scissors. Try those! They let you curve your nail anyway you want and they help prevent too-short nails.
