Yes it hurts- but not that much. The sharp pain only lasts during the piercing but you will have a dull, hot ache for a couple of hours. (If they are using a gun.)

Not too worry I have had dental work that hurt way more.

Everyone has a different threshold of pain. The higher the gauge the smaller the needle. It really doesn't hurt because it is so fast. If you have ever had to give blood from a vein in your arm or a shot in your arm muscle then this is twenty times less pain that those. Ask for the 18 gauge needle.

Some say it doesn't hurt, they are setting you up for a fall. It does hurt, just not a lot. The pain goes away quickly. It compares to getting a shot.

Make sure you keep your ear lobe clean and use the cleaning solution they give you. If it starts to hurt later on, it could be an infection and you should see a doctor. If you keep it clean, the risk of infection is very low.

im not really sure what the difference is...i got mine done so long ago and dont remember what kind the "ear piercing gun" was. anyways...it hurts after the first 5 minutes and then it goes away afterward. as long as you take good care of it after getting it pierced and use the ear sanitizing stuff every da it shouldnt hurt but if it does go back to the store u got it done or to a doctor.

YES! but most of the pain comes after when you have to keep moving the earring around to keep it from sealing up and getting infected. Luckily the pain goes away after a while.

When you get the piercing it is more shock than pain. I throbbs really bad, but it doesn't really hurt hurt, it stings alot.

So many things in life are more painful than that; This just take a second, not even, you bearly feel a sting and that's it. The worse would come if you dont take care of them properly for the time recommended (6 weeks)

It doesn't hurt to get your ear lobe pierced but it does hurt if you get the cartilage done.

yes either one will hurt, but only after a few minutes, and then you will be fine, the pain is more like a bee sting , its not all that painful tho, just dont forget to clean it and twist the earring around. and good luck

Neither hurt, takes about 1 second. Dont worry, dont panic, in fact I will bet when its done you will say "is that it?"

Response to David: How convenient of you to claim people are lying. Did you know low pain tolerence is associated with obesity? Sucks to be you I guess...
