you can list it on Google.com or Ask.com or any other searching website for free. You just have to sing up to the site.

Alrighty, if you want a serious one you go to overture.com
Its a pay per view, the best and most used and determines which websites show on Yahoo, MSN, Google has its own.
You have to pay $50 dollars but the bidding starts at 10 cents. Every time someone goes on your website you pay whatever you bidded for. The good thing it comes out of the $50 and they just email you when your low on dough. The main thing here is your viewers divided by the money made on website equals how much you can spend on overture without going broke.
Bid well and get a good spot. Its easy smeasy to get low cost ones with the reverse search engine by bidding on the mispelled websites and other tactics on overture they are cheap.
You have to have other things as well like the 4 main things that determine whether how high on the list you are.
First have great name specific to website or product selling.
Then have it listed 3x.
Second have the description of your website with key words at least 3 times no more.
The other thing is location has to be on there. Most people use location for finding what they want.
The last thing is what is on your website its a portal that sends people to other portals and when something is bought then you get "bonus points" not really but it helps to boost your position.
You go to overture.com search and on the first page of search there is a REVERSE search engine. Look on there for what you want your website to be or sell and can get good names (locators to look for when buying a pay per view bid on overture).

there is a free service (donations are optional) selfpromotion.com, it lets you list your site for free in a lot of search engines and directories.

1. Go to http://dotster.com/
2. select your domain name
3. Then you need to pay fot hosting it for you
4. Once you have your domain and it's hosted by (http://dotster.com/) you need to have to design your website as well other wise you will see a blank page
