How do you think your new employer will feel if they know that you just walked out on your last job?
GIVE NOTICE! You may not think that you care about what they think, but they can do you damage. Maybe not with the new job, but it can haunt you later.

A few years ago I left a job from "hell". The other employees before me left and never came back. They didn't give any sort of notice. I gave them a one day notice. She wasn't too happy but I wasn't either (at the job). I never had to use them as a reference.

Absolutely, Give notice, but your future employer should be advised that you may be ready to report for work that same day or the next.

well work for a one more week and take your salary, plus give them a notice earlier so as they can find a sutiable person before you leave or else they may file a case against you.
