Do you think soda should be taken out of schools and replaced but bottled water and juice?

No, I do not. Especially since there are children with diabetes whose only option is sugar-free drinks (and that would be only water in those circumstances). They should be treated fairly. Also, it is the PARENTS decision what their child may eat/drink. I don't mind if the school doesn't sell it, but I do mind if the school prohibits it.

Absolutely. Sodas are empty calories that are contributing to the deterioration of health. Kids unfortunately do not know enough about proper nutrition and are therefor easily influenced by junk food advertising. Removing soda drinks looks bad but its being done for a good cause.

My opinion, yes and deffinetly water, don't know about the juice, they put so much artificial junk in some of them it might even be better to drink a soda instead, I say yes to nartural juice(meaning no artificial flavouring or sweetener). Good luck on your answers

(there is a Food & Drink section)

this is issue is ridiculous, drinking juice/milk as opposed to a soda may be a little bit healthier, yet is not going to change these kids in any significant way.

The fact is these kids need to EXERCISE, I know children who are brothers and sisters, some of them are healthy and fit as they play sports and get exercise, while the other two are overweight because they simply DO NOT exercise, and just watch TV.

There are many factors that contribute to someones weight, and health...food is only one part, so is genetics...but the MOST important thing is EXERCISE.

I don't know, or pretend to know about you, but I do know that many kids are becoming over weight or flat out obese. It should be the parents job to teach children proper eating and exercise habits, but many parents are failing. Unfortunately, it really would behoove our nations children to remove some kinds of fattening and unhealthy foods from our schools. I don't think kids need to be drinking soda in schools, and I don't think schools should be selling it.

Yeah, I do. Of course, we know you're going to be drinking it elsewhere. But the schools should not be making a profit on the poor health of many of its students. And that's what they were doing when the soda machines were there.

I think there should be both. In middle school and high school you are old enough to make your own decisions. But what always made me mad was that juice and water always cost more.

Yes! Healthier is better. If that is what you truly want, organize your peers/students and stop buying junk food/sodas then it will change. It is a question of profit.Request and buy healthy choices only. Peace.

No, but then again removing it completely is easier than educating or parenting kids.
