It certainly seems like he has. The only time you hear about him is when a "tape" surfaces. And I don't mean to feed into conspiracy theories but it always seems that the tape surfaces at opportune times.

We haven't forgot about Bin Laden at all. He is in Pakistan and that is a delicate situation because they are a nuclear power and there is such a large radical Islamic base. Remember, some of the London tube bombers had gone to masque's in Pakistan so the base for Islamic hatred is planted there.

If we were to march in and capture him that would enrage the Muslim population and the current regime in Pakistan would look weak in the eyes of his people for not being able to stop the US military from invading his country. The Muslims in that country could possibly rise up and take over the government that has nuclear weapons.

The worst case scenario for the entire world is a Muslim nation with nuclear weapons. We are not fighting a global war on terrorism, it is a global war on radical Islam. Al Qeada's striking capability has been significantly reduced since the beginning of our global war against radical Islam.

Bin Laden is contained and right now that is the best situation for the USA, if we go in and capture him it is more likely that nuclear weapons fall into enemy hands. As backwards as that sounds.

There isn't any petroleum in the caves of Afghanistan- well, maybe there might be, but there certainly isn't an already established, profitable, infrastructure to unearth it, process it, and export it to the U.S.
