I am going to have a garage sale soon, and I have a lot nice, like new clothes that I'm going to put in it. I would like to get the most money I can for them, but I don't want to put too high of a price on them or they won't sell. I have seen a wide variety of prices on similiar items at other garage sales, some I thought were WAY overpriced. $10 for used jeans! What is the most you would pay for the following items? (Some are name brand like Levi, Abercromie, Gap and Tommy, but not all.) (Mens and womens)
Jeans
T-shirts, camis, tanks
Shorts
Fleece pullovers, sweaters, long sleeve shirts

Thanks so much in advance!

Garage sales serves several purposes
(1) clear and free up space
(2) re-cycle stuff away from dump sites
(3) provide opportunities for extended use of items
(4) make friends with neighbours and visitors you never thought existed within your residence
(5) try to get something of value (cash especially) for the effort.

The guide is usually (for effective sales) is 10 cents to the Dollar.

Hold it early (8am to 12 noon)
Check the weather
Make sufficient signs at road intersections
Fly a few balloons at your driveway
Sell pop or water (more cash)
Give out business cards or flyers (link to local marketing, more cash later)
Tie in with neighbour's garage sale
Tied up the dogs and cats
Label all with prices (save your energy and time)
Have lots of small change
Try to get rid of everything as a package (eg box of books)
Put on some light music
Wear a baseball cap or use sunscreen

Go ahead - and have fun with the neighbours.

It depends on what u r selling. pants like new 2$, I do all the time, It also depends on where u live. If u live in a low income neighbor hood, cheap, if u r rich go higher. it depends on who is shopping also. We have garage sales all the time and we put 50 cents on pants and shorts, so we can get rid of them, also toys are cheap too 50 cents to $1,u get the point, It's mostly about u wanting to get rid of it or u wanna make some money. We have them to get rid of stuff and the poorer people come to ours, so that's why we have them really cheap. be the way good luck, we are having one also next week.

Hi there, I had a garage sale before I moved here to Atlanta. If you aren't sure on the price, always go higher because the people will talk you down. I made $400 at mine, much more than what I thought i'd get. Good luck!!

it depends on how good a shape the jeans are in but i would never pay over 5.00 and usually not that much. most people are going to a garage sale to get bargains and save money. clothes don't usually bring very much. t shirts 25 cents to a dollar.

Garage sale items should be in the neibourhood of 10¢ to 25¢ on the dollar...depending on the condition and age.....anything else is not a grage sale and there for, a business....have fun with it...get rid of unwanted items...use the money to have fun with after that...take your mate out for dinner...go to a theatre.....

For one it depends on where you live. Clothes don't go for much at garage sales around here (Topeka,Ks.) Anywhere from .25 to a few dollars. You might get $5.00 out of a good pair of jeans.

go cheap. Like about 3 dollars. You are never going to get close to the original price, because anyone that stops to look at clothing, must then be wanting the size for have for sale. those are slim odds

Clothing is tuff to get good value, because folks are usually unsure about wearing strangers clothing.

Assuming this clothing looks and feels new, I'd pay up to $10.00 I suppose.

put a litle price tag on each item, and ask for the price that you think is fair, and then can put obo (or best offer) below the price you are asking, and if someone offers you a price a little lower then you are asking, but is still fair you can take it, but if they offer you a price so low that you feel insulated, just tell them "sorry, i just cant sell it for that low of price". good luck.
