OK I'm aiming to bulk up over the summer holidays (3 months); I have protein powder, creatine and Vitamin C as my suppliments.
I aim to go to the gym every week day night for an hour and a half (has to revolve around work) concentrate on two muscle groups each time, eg, shoulders and chest, then back and arms etc etc (all machine weights as opposed to free weights)...
I will eat four main meals a day although breakfast will be light, and go to the gym around 8pm.
Will this be sufficient for me to put on weight (very roughly how much?), and will I see the gains after 3 months, no matter how slight?
I relaise you can only give rough, but educated, answers but I'd be very grateful if you could let me know very roughly what to aim for.
Thanks!

my husband used to be a personal trainer -
basically you shouldn't do the gym everyday
your muscles get torn when you do exercise - so you need to go to the gym one day then do something else like swimming the next so you exercise different muscles
also eat lots and lots of pasta - this turns into muscle the quickest.
good luck

Ok, firstly you need a rest day in between to start with, then, build up your routine to go everyday alternating muscle groups. Also you must remember to include some cardio there or you might get to be some size but unable to walk coz you get breathless. When training always use large muscle groups first then smaller ones. As to weight gain eveyone is different, take measurements or photos when you first start then three months down the line compare new ones, you will be surprised. Don't get to into it at the start or you will burn yourself out.Hope this helps a little.

The only problem i see with this program is that you are going to the gym around 8pm. I hope you are going to bed around 11pm or later because you might have trouble sleeping if you work out just before you go to bed. It has happened to me before.
Also, be sure to take your protein shakes right after you workout to maximize muscle growth.
You should be able to see gains in 3 months. How much really depends on your metabolism..and how much food you eat. Be sure to have more calories than you normally would to gain weight...possibly 400-500 more calories..my estimate.

If you actually follow through with your plan you should definitely notice some results, I'm guessing that's what you're trying to find out. Of course a lot of it depends on how much you push yourself while you're working out, but I think it's safe to say that if you do what you're setting out to do you should put on between 10 and 20 pounds.

Just a tip, try to use some free weights, it forces you to stabilize the weight, and machines don't always allow for the correct motions

If your not used to excersise then i wouldnt commit to 5 nights a week, you;ll either end up not doing that much, and feeling let down, or your gonna hurt yourself.

first of all, have a good big breakfast, steak and eggs, eggs are good, yes they are high in cholesterol but if you are exercising a lot it will not be a problem. secondly and best of all have lots of beer, yes beer it has more calcium pint for pint than milk and helps build muscle mass, good luck on your quest :D

Honestly, why are you so concerned about bulking up? You seem to be fixated with your appearance. Don't you realize how shallow that is?
