implantation spotting dose not always happen. When it dose it is usually 7 - 10 days after the egg was fertilized. Spotting can also happen the day of a expected period during pregnancy. Implantation should have already hap pend 4 days before you can expect to see a +. So at the soonest a very accurate test may be + 50% of the time 11 days after ovulation. Most any test will be + 15 days past ovulation the day after a missed period. The spotting can be like a light period or only pink spots or just some brown spotting. Any period that is a lot lighter then usually could be a sign of early pregnancy. If you are having the 7 to 10 day spoting a test will NOT SHOW + THAT EARLY. The egg has to already be implanted and have been there a few days to produce enough HCG to show on a pee test. If you get a - test still no period always RE TEST a week later.

Implantation spotting usually occurs 6-8 days after ovulation and that would be a little too early to take a pregnancy test and get a true result. I would wait until after a missed period, so another 8 days or so and then test. As far as implantation spotting, it is usually darker, more brown but this varies from woman to woman and it can last one day or several days.
