Yzerman. Hands down. I bet even Brind A'mour would agree.

Yzerman. Brind A'mour has been around for a long time and has played on some good teams but only lead his team to the cup once. Yzerman has proved himself to be a leader many times and is always there when you need him. Five years ago Brind Amour was a has been. Scoring maybe twenty goals a season, leading his team to poor season after poor season. Now that he's found himself again he's back on track. Yzerman has always been good.

Brind A'mour all the way. Yzerman is graet, but Brind A'mour is the man, no doubt. Awesome thing about Brind A'mour is that not only is he a great leader, but he is still a great player, i think yzerman is losing it myself. Brind A'mour will be grooming Eric Staal to take over as captain of the team in about 4 or 5 years.

Without a doubt Steve Yzerman. You would be hard pressed to find a better leader in any sport (John Elway and Joe Montana are the only ones I can think of who are even close) Stevie Y is the longest serving captain in history, has 3 Stanley Cup rings as well as a Lester B. Pearson award (1989), the Conn Smthe (1998)m the Selke Trophy (2000) and the Bill Masterson for persevearance (2003) and is a tough as a competitor as you are likely to find (See the playoff games he has led his team through only essentially 1 knee as evidence)... He truly leads by example, in the past few years his offensive skills have diminished a bit, but he gladly kills penalties and plays his part of a "Grind Line" type unit... Yzerman is the clear choice

It's got to be Steve Yzerman. He leads the team no matter what. When they were down as low as they could go he hung in there and waited. His fellow teammates respect him on and off the ice. He is also respected by the other players, coaches and managers in the league. He is a class act and never acts any other way. Plus, he is a great player, injured or not. Stevie has always been a team player.

Rod Brind'Amour. He leads the team by example. When we needed somebody to step up because we were having a bad game Brind'Amour was there. When we needed a boost or a great play or a great assist or a goal off a rebound, he was there. He's been the captain for a long time, and all of the other guys only have good things to say about him. He's respected and loved by his coach and other teammates, and now we have him for another five years!!! YES!

Yzerman, their records speak for themselves. Stevie Y turned the 'Dead' Wings around and made them a team to be proud of .
Ron Francis molded the Canes, Rod just took over the helm when Ron retired.
