no he's not crazy, he's stupid. he may not live long enuf to see a return on his "investment".

Yep. I think he is. I haven't seen anyone so far on a street bike that was under 18 who seemed like they could handle it mentally.

It's too tempting to try to break the rules, and at 17 you think you're immortal, even if you say otherwise. I have an 03 R6, and I know how much power they have. At 17 he hasn't been driving long enough to have any sense of the road, let alone be able to handle a bike like an R6. He should stick to dirt or get a non-sport bike. At least it's not an R1...

Most motorcycles are NOT investment opportunities, especially R6s - they are a dime a dozen and unless he got it at a fire sale there is probably NO way he will get more for it than he paid for it (and puts into it). He might actually be crazy - for not thinking of a better reason to buy a bike - there are lots of good reasons, but investing ain't one of them.

Nope I think a 600 is a good starter. More power then you need to begin with but then you wont want to replace it 2 months later if you had a 250. My first was a 600RR and as long as you respect it it will respect you.
