My female cat likes it when I wear jeans. When she comes on my lap she rubs her face all over my knees and it feels so ticklish! She also walks around in a circle twice before I let her out the front door. When she comes back in she walks around the dining room table twice too.

I have border collies - they invented quirky. :-D
They'll attack and tear apart a plastic soda bottle especially if you make hissing noises like a cat when you throw it. No they won't bother the real cat sitting in the same room.
One 90% of the time stays in the yard - every once in a while he decides he doesn't want to be there so gets out (I haven't caught him yet as to HOW) and comes around the front and sits on the porch. Doesn't *go* anywhere - just wants on the front porch instead of the back.
The pack matriarch if there's a bowl of something she wants (her 'kids' do this too!) she'll grab the whole bowl and run off with it.
have had quirky dogs for years...each is an individual.

We have a 100+ pound Johnson type American Bulldog (still growing). We also have three kids under seven. From what we've seen previously, most dogs who like kids seem to like them all the same, but this dog has a dramatically different relationship with each one of the kids, playing with each very differently. He shows the ability to have complex emotional relationships. He also breaks them up when they fight and will attack and hold (forcefully and seriously) my husband if he plays rough-house with the kids. The dog can jump seven feet straight in the air from a standing position and he pulled our '96 Cadillac more than 60 feet up the street with a strap on his shoulders and the car in neutral. The kids call him a super hero dog and tie capes around him and order him to jump. He has even given them rides.

I currently have three cats. Christmas the oldest doesn't like water, yet she is unable to eat her food without scooping it up, dipping it into the water dish and then into her mouth. Nikki, her sister, loves water and will join you in the tub, in the shower, and at least once a day will walk into one of two water bowls (I have to have two because of this), and then use her front paws to splash water up on her body. Once she has fully showered she shakes herself off and steps out of the bowl. Grey, who like the other two were abandonded cats, hides whenever anyone comes. You can't find him period. There are people who if I didn't have pictures to prove it, would swear that I only have two cats because he has never been seen by anyone other then me. But honestly, he lives in my house too!

Don't all pets do quirky things? ;)
My Pit Bulldog, Ginger, will make loud lip-smacking noises when she's hungry or begging for a treat. This is a recent development, but it's a lot clearer message than just a plaintive bark!
I wonder where she learned it.

My cat really likes armpits. If anyone is lying down, he'll head there first and headbutt you there.
He also likes to roll around in clothing you have just taken off, and wipe the smells all over his head with his paws.
We call this behavior "snifty-woos." :o)

My 60 pound boxer likes to sit on everyones feet. Actually it's more an yone she likes. You can tell if she likes you if you if she sits on your feet! She also likes to give hugs and she howls at the answering machine as if she thinks someone is trapped in there.

Yes, I have a 16 yr old cat who isn't happy unless I stick my big toe as far into his ear as I can. He loves it!! And also, he sticks his paws in his water dish and then licks his paws. He isn't grooming when he does this, that's how he's drinking. Go figure.

my dog, Cliffy, goes into the bedroom, grabs a piece of clothing, runs back into the living roon with it in his mouth, makes eye contact with me, and chews on the clothes until I get up and give him a cookie. Who is the trained one here?

I bought my cat from a shelter. Whenever my doorbell rings, my cat tries to bark and then runs to the door. It's never assaulted anyone, but it still weirds me out.
