As we know, one blows the candles placed on birth-day / or any other special occassion. Our expired breath may carry many bacteria / microorganisms. It may be lodged on the cake. We eat the same cake. Is it hygenic to eat?

As a matter of fact, it is unhealthy! A huge rule in the culinary industry is that you NEVER blow on food!

It is very possible, but at the same time, you are in the same room with them, breathing the same air. There was an article that said people have breathed the same air molecules as Julius Caesar. And I have never heard of anyone getting sick from a birthday cake in that manner, so you're probably pretty safe.

I've eaten birthday cake for years, with no ill effects. I imagine there could be a problem though if the blower is sick- in which case he should be resting, not partying.

Probably not.
The fire would fry the bacteria and the smoke would most likely keep it from living. Unless the person is sick it is probaly not hygenic.
