No more than it ended on June 6, 2006 or May 5, 2005 (cinco de mayo!), April 4th, 2004, etc.
Why do some people believe this kind of nonsense.
I know of only one sure way the world is going to end.
When the sun becomes a red giant and engulfs the earth in about 5 billion years.
If you mean mankind dying out, all species eventually die out. Some go completely extinct i.e the Dodo, others evolve to newer species i.e. Homo Habilis to Homo Erectus to Homo Sapiens (us) to ?
The only way I know to completely wipe out humanity at present is a large comet or asteriod to hit the earth.
We have become so numerous and widespread, nothing else can completely wipe us out. Not disease, nuclear war, climate change etc. Sure civilization might be lost, but some people will survive.to rebuild.

Well that's very interesting actually! Using the Mayan Calandar basics the Mayan's calculated using heavy mathematical problems the age of the earth and the basically "went back to the begining of time" when they found the soloution their calendar ran out in 2012. Though at the moment with science we cannot be certain that the world actually is going to end in 2012.

Do you really want to know when the world is going to end? So, you can sit around worrying about it. It will end when it does, there is nothing that can be done about it so why stress about it. People have been saying since the beginning of time that the world is going to end and no one has been right yet!

I do believe the Mayan calendar will end in 2012. The calendar however, does not say the whole world will end. Very nice calendar that allows for the precession of the earth's axis... how'd they do that in Mayan times?

yo chill guys do gang up on her like that she was just curious....she is only still a child she just heard it from her sis whom which heard it from her teacher....the world wasn't suppose to end on 6-6-06 it was the devils day movie coming out on that day...but please don't talk about this anymore...it gives me goosebumps..
