I just did a poll on Hillary Clinton as a presidential candidate for 2008 and one of the questions asked whether her being a female would make it more likely or less likely for people to vote for her. I found this interesting and wanted to see what others thought.

The # of people polled were 491 last I checked with 36% (of those stating they are democrats) choosing Hillary Clinton as the candidate they would want to nominate in the primaries. But take into mind that is not a large base to generalize from.

Nothing for or against her political views I feel that this country as much as they try to "embrace" all the women/minortiy movments are not ready to have on running the Most Powerful Country.
I feel that Hilary Clinton gender will play a large role in the votes she will receive. First there will be those women that have been waiting for this opportunity to get a woman into office and once there is one with as much power and political influences this seems like it will be the way to go. Then there will be those that will NEVER vote for her as she is a woman and even in the 21 century there are still so many gender stereotypes that exist today and those that believe that a woman is just not capable of handling all the responsibilities that will go along with some position ( including president of the United States)
In my opinion I feel that a woman president would be great but I don’t feel that a candidates gender should be an important issue voting for President – the person to rule the country. It is so frustrating seeing all the advancements that this country has accomplished yet we still haven’t had a women president??

I think her history of being in politics and her husband's presidential legacy would have more to do with why people might vote for or against her. I would have no trouble voting for a woman president, I think Condoleezza Rice would make a fine leader. But Hillary, I'd fight tooth and nail that she would not get elected.

I nonetheless would have voted for Hillary. even as Gore is a mind-blowing guy and would were a much better president from 2001 - 2009 than what we had I do merely not like him - and he's not as mind-blowing as Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton would not be a good president. I do think she is going to be a presidential candidate, but I don't think she will get picked for president.

I'm a Republican and don't vote in the Democrat primary however, I wouldn't vote for her. Not because she's a woman, but because she's a Liberal-Marxist.

I would vote for her. But unfortunately I don't think our country is ready for a woman president.

God help the country if she runs. The country may or may not be ready for a female president but they are not ready for her.
