Get a place that isn't so important a with scissors snip a bit off fluff off, thenkinda use glue to glue the "fluff" into the cigarette burn. If done right you will never notice, however it depends how fluffy the carpet is! Can then trim with scissors when dry to the correct length.... Not the most professional approach but it works

Go to your local fabric store and buy the powdered version of a iron on seam binding. Go home and shave some fibers of the carpet from the corners of the room. Snip off the dark area of the burn mark and sprinkle the seam binding on the snipped area followed by the shavings. Place a brown bag over the area and apply a hot iron for a few seconds then check to see if the shavings have adhered if not continue with the brown bag/iron until adhesion is to your liking. If the areas are in a high traffic area you may want to cover them with accented color area rugs to brighten the room and hide/protect the repaired area.

Re-arrange your furniture being sure to place something on top of each burn.

When you go to move out, you will lose your deposit, or if you are selling it will not help the new buyers to buy knowing they will have to replace the carpet. If not now, in the future you will need to replace the carpet. Replace it in time for you to enjoy the new carpet instead of just buying it for someone else to use.

Right now, to cut down on future burns and if you buy new carpet, put down plastic that is used as runners or high traffic area carpet protectors. (Or just door mats) that you can throw away when they get burned.

try using a brush and brush the carpet from all sides of the carpet that surround the hole into the hole and for bigger holes itf you dont want to repair it I would suggest trying to cover it with furniture or putting a smaller carpet that goes with the original over it

Well, try and "snip" off the tips of the burnt spots, is about all I can tell you, or, maybe dab a bit of paint, that color on the spots with a painters thin brush, to hide it.

I wish you well..
