i just want them to all work together so i can utilize the hard drive of the weaker comp....the 2 hard drives are not compatiable....

You can't truly use both computers as one without clustering. The best you could do is use a hub or switch to set up a network and share files on the other drive. BUT... whoever told you the hard drives are not "compatible" wasn't quite right. There's no reason you can't use both hard drives on one computer, even if they're different (IDE, SATA or SCSI). For the same money and less effort, instead of buying a switch/hub, buy a controller card for your other drive and stick it in your stronger PC. Presto! You've got two hard drives.

You need whats called a switch
Its kinda like a router but it enables you to access the other pc's files
It lets you use either monitor to get to all the files on both pc's.
