I'll make this short and sweet. If he really wants that divorce let it go, but he best realize that divorce is not always the answer only a way into another mess that he has yet to resolve in his first marriage if it is his first.
I believe in this. If you marry once and it doesn't work out and there are no kids involved...he or she is lucky. Next time he or she may not be so fortunate. When a man leaves woman and divorces because some younger Sweet has ravished his soul, he better think again. Divorce is not always the answer, but if he must divorce then he better take a good look at himself first before he looks at another women again.

The first thing I would do is ask them, Did you seriously try to make it work... but i'm sure they are getting a divorced for a good reason... well I hope its a good reason.

But I would also tell them to hang in there... because divorces can be very stressful...I would try to help my friend stay busy. with people who cares for there well being..

I'm not talking about going to clubs and stuff like that... but just chillin.

just be there for them when they need you and be as positive as you can be for their future. A divorce is like a death and the person has to mourn the relationship. They are gonna be up and down and it is very hard to watch them go through such a terrible situation. Be as considerate as possible to them and let them know that the universe will unfold as it should. Good luck in your mission to help your friend

The only advice I would give is to get a lawyer. After that, it is more about listening and being supportive than giving advice.

It depends who is leaving and being. I say he gets his life back. Sure he's a little older (or a lot) but he can breathe again. Hell don't give him advice (it won't help and he won't take it), party with him unless you are married or just hang out.
But if I was him with a new found freedom, spoil yourself with a trip to Brazil or Thailand. He will come back a new man. Unless he's one of those romanitic types then he's screwed.

depending on how much i knew already. a good lawyer is a must. make sure you agree on the child support and visitation if kids are involved..

its not easy mentally to get one, so i would listen and be there when my friend needed to talk.

other than that, i would probably take the friend out to dinner and a movie to get their mind off it for a while

The worst is behind you. Wait a few weeks and get your feelings back to normal. Find someone you can be real happy with. Good luck.

be still , dont rush the decision, take his time, read the word it will comfort him, be a real friend , dont give him the popular advice, give him the truth,,marriage is life long commitment, can it be worked out, or if out of his control. oh well, ....tell him what YOU really think,
