My husband and I have been trying to conceive for quite some time now. I read somewhere that it is possible to have an odor when you urinate when you are pregnant. I know that this may sound funny to the childish people that are on here just to get points, but to some of us this is a way for people in the same shoes to talk about things. Please let me know if anyone has had this before???

My urine is actually clear. No burning sensation, no bleeding, not even the slightest bit of hurting. I have been drinking enough water. Actually more than usual and I'm not doing anything different in my daily routine!

Actually, I have heard this. Healthy pregnant women can sometimes detect an odor in their urine. It is because you body produces more glucose and that sometimes will cause a distinctive odor!

Obviously, (which I'm sure you already know) if it is accompanied by a burning sensation or urgent, frequent or painful urination, and has an odor, it could be a UTI.

I didn't have an odor when I was pregnant the first time, but my cousin did. She though it was the onset of a UTI during her pregnancy, but her doctor said it was normal.

Take care!

If your urine is yellow (as opposed to clear) and has a strong smell, this is a sign that you need to drink more. It is a sign of mild dehydration. And, since you are likely to need more water when pregnant, it could *indirectly* be a sign of pregnancy. This is particularly likely if you drink a fixed amount every day instead of drinking when you are thirsty--which is much healthier for you anyway!

I have never heard that or had that problem and I have 4 kids. You could have a urinary tract infection causing the odor. Ask you doctor.
