This could be the result of a number of different problems... The file could be too large, the file may be corrupt or may not exist on your harddrive, or the server which you are uploading it to for the e-mail may be experiencing problems. Finally, it could be a virus. What e-mail service are you using?

How big is the file and what sort of email are you using? If you are using yahoo I think there is a 10 megabyte on file size. Also it might not let you attach certain file types. Put the file in a zipped folder and try again.

If u r using Gmail and trying to attach .exe files or flash applications then the security features doesn't allows u to do so.
If Yahoo or sify or rediff then check for thwe file size, it should not exceed 20 MB.
Only FTP servers can handle above 20 MB files. Since most of the users like me r using mails for free, POP3 access & FTP access r restricted. U have to be a Premium member to use those servers.

check if the file you want to attach is really on that location you typed, if yes check the file's extention for example a photo should be .jpg a word document .doc etc. you should also be sure the size of the file does not exceed the size allowed by your mail provider

you may have a virus which is not letting your e-mail pop server not read the file or you may have deleted the file but the shortcut is still there.
