No, neopets does not cause any viruses itself. BUT, many people on neopets lure people to visit sites outside neopets, and many of those sites either contain viruses, cookie grabbers, etc.

It's a good rule of thimb to NEVER trust someone you don't know from neopets to visit their personal websites. There are too many people who rig their websites to enable them to hack into your neopets account.

No, neopets has very strict rules about that one.
Even on the personal homepages you can't post links to outside neopets.
