I do. We had pictures taken and the prints were all in unstandard sizes weirdly enough so we did have to get the custom framed. I think it is a cool job and a lot of people who are artistic and have a good eye for things of that nature would be very happy with a position like that. Most people don't know about it because they have never needed it...as I am sure you know, a lot of pictures come in standard sizes. Anyway, glad you love your job! That's great!

Any person who has ever needed anything framed that didn't come in a traditional frame size eventually has to find out what a custom framer is. Take a look at the phone book, how many shops do you see in there? Then there are people like you who work there and spread the word on what they do to friends and familly...just imagine how many people that eventually is leaked out to. How awesome you love your job...take comfort that when you tell people you are a framer that MOST of them know what that is.

I do, my nephew is a custom framer and believe me the $ is worth it. He's been building houses for twenty years. Some track homing and mosting big, beautiful custom homes. It's ALL about the framing. And you know what, 99% of the time he gets it right the first time.

I'd love to, custom framing is making picture frames to individual specifications, out of a variety of different materials, with or without glass and with or without matting. My grandfather once made a frame from old barn wood and used it to frame an oil painting my grandmother had painted of the barn itself....How did I do?

I do, my husband use to do it for a company called Awardmaker (in North Miami), they were the pioneers in a particular style of framing documents to make a sort of plaque out of them, they called it the "Black Beauty".
