What part of Kentucky will you traveling through? If you are coming down I-75 you can detour to Frankfort or Woodford County (I-64) to tour Buffalo Trace Distillery or Woodford Reserve. If you like horses stop in at the KY Horse Museum. Going through Louisville you have the Louisville Slugger Museum. Bowling Green has the Corvette Plant and Museum. You've got to take a tour of Mammoth Caves.
Let me know exactly what part of the state you are traveling through and I will be more than happy to give you a list of things to do in Kentucky.

The Rendezvous in Memphis. Across the street from the Peabody, mid-way down the alley.

The Civil Rights Museum in Memphis is located in the Lorraine Motel, where MLK was assassinated in 1968. It's a very good museum, and a pilgrimage site as well.

if you are heading toward the middle of Tennessee- and have a chance to stop in Cookeville - go to Bobby Q's. it's a great barbecue place - make sure to have the pool house slaw (hot and spicy) and the banana pudding - creamy and yummy.
