I think that there are markets avalible for all types of writing so "good" isn't in the question -- not to mention to "good" is subjective.

I think that you have some good concepts in this poem but that you are telling your reader something that isn't original which is somewhat of a problem. People write about summer all the time, but when they get published for writing about summer it's because they have a new way of looking at the season.

There are some really great books around on become a writer. You may want to check out Mary Oliver's book _A Poetry Handbook_.

Also consider spending some quality time with poetry magazines and books of poetry. (Try the magazine, _Poetry and Writers_) See what's out there and then see what you've written. Compare them and see where the published poems do things differently from you.

Good luck, and if you want to write then write, even if people tell you not to. However, know that making a living as a poet (and often times writer) is nearly impossible so don't rely only on your words for income.

It's nice but, you have a few grammar and spelling errors even though you might just be doing it to finish. I think you should proofread.
A trp to the beach
should be
A trip to the beach
A a splash in the pool
should be
A splash in the pool
Otherwise, it's good and if you enter poetry contest, like myself, you can win to be published into a poetry book.

well start with spelling and make sentence a bit longer use the flow of one sentence into another and make the end link to the start and try and write like your feeling the words it helps and also think of others opinions at the same time as thinking of yours then combine the picture you see and put it into words
otherwise if you were willing to post that here I beleive youl be the best writer there is enjoy :P

It was good. Keep on writing and maybe take a class or two about writing to give you more insight.
