My parents and relavtives always ask me to solve their problem when they have one coz they don't know too much out there in the world. They are unable to solve it without me. However, I personally have a busy life with work, with school. I don't even have enough time to rest! And they keep calling me everyday to check if I have solved the problem yet (something that is not easy to settle down.) By the way, my relationship is not going well lately. I am totally depressed and stress out. How can I let them know I am very tired and I need a break? If I refuse them, they feel hurt and they may think I am selfish.

Tell them directly. No one can dump on you without your permission. There is no oblique way to go about it so be an adult and speak up. Once the crutch of you is removed you'll be amazed at how fast they learn to help themselves.

Been there, done that. My solution is to shut off the phone for a few hours a day and do something for me. However, I am not gonna refuse my family, because I love them so much. Don't stop helping out, just insist on a break, and if people say, where were you? Just tell them you were in the shower, didn't hear the phone, battery died, radio too loud to hear the ring, then say "Oh, sorry I didn't get back to you." and be the fix-it man. It's your Famn, Right? But insist on the time out. No matter what.

Tell them now......you don't want them to find out when something happens to you. You know too much stress can kill especially women. Talk to them now and tell them they need to learn to solve their own problems. It's time to cut the string.....it will be hard but you want to live. Good luck.
