Trying to keep everyone happy will never work. That mentality is flawed. I act like how I am and I don't change it to make others feel better.

I think civil discourse is lacking rather than over-used. I find that there is more vitriolic bile being flung about as legitimate discussion, and it seems to be fueled mostly by talk-radio. It seems wit and intellectual reparte have been supplanted by coarse and vulgar shouting matches, and those with the most audacious and inflammatory comments are the ones that get the most applause. I do not advocate a dialogue of pap or filler, but I think I would prefer witnessing and participating in discussions with those who exercise some restraint and display a more acute critical thinking style.

I think we live in a politically correct society that is trying to please "all the ppl all of the time". In time, I think ppl will see that this approach is incorrect, because instead of introducing our children to the "real" world, we have desanitized it and given them a watered down version of life.
I believe in being honest and telling it like it is. Society goes out of its way to not offend, which in turn, I think, have given us a more "legal" perspective on things. If something or someone is treated incorrectly according to society, ppl are more apt to sue and file lawsuits over the dumbest things.

It's impossible to avoid offending people. Just be yourself and if someone is offended by what you say or do, have a dialogue and see what can be done to clarify the issue.

No matter what you say, and no matter what you do ..you will always offend somebody! Personally I think that if you're not deliberately out to hurt people, you shouldn't pay too much attention to this politically correct crap!!
