"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one."
Yeah, I don't buy it, either. I'd save my friend.

I have to do it myself and can choose how? The 100,000 - I would be putting them out of the misery of starvation, fear, disease and hopelessness. But if I had to kill the person closest to me - that would be a bad option too, but she will die eventually anyway. Quite possibly before me. But, a instant death would be welcomed by many people dying from Aids and malnutrition. I could put a bullet through their heads. Or even a weapon of mass destruction - if I could find one that was fast and clean. At random - that means you could be one of them. Don't walk down any dark alleys.........

You have ask a very hard question. The bible says greater love hath no man than one who would lay down his life for a friend. I know in my heart that I could be the one, but to choose like you are asking I don't know. I have a son. Just one son. He is my life, but I would like to think I could be more Godly and say the good of the many outweighs the good of the one no matter how much you love the one. God is the only one that I know of that has made that choice.

John 3:16 (King James Version)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I couldn't kill 1000 people, so I'd kill the closest person to me, but ever so kindly so they don't feel a thing and be all happy... and then kill myself too because I couldn't bear it. Unless I could say that the closest person to me is actually a sheep or something?

If I could go to Afganistan or Iraq then I'd chose the 100,000 people and save our army's the job!!
It would make the world alot safer too although the way this country is going I should only have to go as far as East London to find that many imigrants!!!

It would depend on the 100000 people, who are they?
I would opt for the killing of the 100000 in most cases, but that would be wrong, doing it myself I don't think that would be a problem, but again it would depend on the 100000, what ever I would have to live with the outcome

I'd kill the one because none of the people closest to me would rather put their own life before 100000, I dont keep that sort of company.

Also the logistics of killing 100000 people could prove to be a major headache... I mean... I dont have nuclear weapons at my disposal... they would all have to be stabbed or strangled... very hard work!

Hard question, but i suppose it would be selfish to choose the one person for my own happiness and make 1000's suffer. i also think that if you did kill the 100000 people then the 1 person you saved would feel pretty guilty.

100000 people, easily. There are a lot of people that are diluting the gene pool with their stupidity, and I'd love to take out some of the real idiots in the world who are for some odd reason allowed to procreate and spread their stupidity to future generations.

i would kill the one person cause we should first think about others and then about ourselves. I would not like to harm others who love those 100,000 people, but just harm myself by killing the one closest to me. And yeah afterwards i would kill myself the same way i had killed the one i loved.

depends, if these 100000 people were from America, France or Argentina I'd kill the 100000 without any remorse what so ever.

If they were from another country I might feel alittle sad (but not for long)
