as when the asker chooses it instead?

No, it doesn't, but if the asker doesn't choose, mine is as good as many others. And if it really isn't, I won't vote for myself. Let's face it many questions are asking for opinions and/or just a witty perspective. When it's goes up for a vote, it feels great if I see that someone has voted mine as the best BEFORE I get to do it. If my SINGLE vote turns the tide, so be it. There is a great way to keep people from voting for themselves in the hands of the asker. Choose a best answer. Don't put it up to a vote.

And finally, before I get down from this soap box, it's not like cheating on a college exam, padding your resume or stuffing the ballot box in an election that picks the city/state/federal leaders. It's keeping it simple, it's "my opinion is as important as yours", and you are welcome to vote for your own as well.

Ah Yes, the simple pleasures of life.

No, there's no good feeling when you get a best answer from voting, only when the person selected you -that way you know they really appreciated your efforts and cared enough to select you as a best answer. When a question goes to a vote I'm very annoyed-I think it's really lazy and disrespectful that that person got their answers and abandoned their questions. It's like asking for help, getting the help and snatching it out of the person's hands without saying thank you.

i love it, i'd be consumer-pleasant, I do all of it the time and distinct human beings do it. If someone thinks this is unfair or dishonest, per chance if some askers genuinely stricken in picking a desirable answer, no individual will manage to vote for his or her personal answer because the desirable.

i do not feel good. i get pleasure when other people vote . and i think it is not good on the part of us to vote for our questions. the reason is the very purpose of a question should be to acquire knowledge from others. this will be defeated if we vote for our question wantonly. it is immoral
