Oh geez, those things are a witch with a capital B.

Flexibility training is the first thing you need. Be comfortable with a full split, or a near full split, with each leg in front. Also, be comfortable with your grande jetes, that you have solid landings and good form in the air, good elevation and hover.

From then on, the only way to train for this jump is to do it. You feel like a complete spazmo, I know. But really, you just have to repeat the jump until your muscles get the timing down, and the strength to whip your legs in the air.

Try practicing with only one leg (the leg which starts in front and will end up in back. Leave the other leg pointed toward the floor. Then move up to using both legs. This was how my dance teacher taught us to do switch leaps.

You should start out doing it like this ( - that is your leg the line ) -- a leap and in the middle of it go straight legged ll after you have mastered that do this -- and then switch --

I'm learning them too. When you leap, you bend your leg(sort of in a passe)that you're going to switch and kick it back. That's just a start.

Ask your dance instructor to give you some pointers then practice alot. The more you practice, the better you get.
