NEVER!!! Seriously it is never to old to do anything you put your mind to accomplishing. Now to address your underlying question, you will not be an accomplished professional level dancer starting after the age of 4 or 5 simply because you have lost the elasticity of those muscles and they are not conditioned to bring you to that level of performance. However if you are interested in the art form, enjoy the movements, and just want to be healthier, they have many classes for individuals of all age groups. Have fun and dance away!

I had the same question before and I asked someone that did ballet because I'm 20 and everyone kept saying I was too old. Ballet classes have different starting levels and they can teach you no matter how old you are! Call a studio and ask them, they will tell you the same thing. Don't let people that don't know what they're talking about crush your dreams!

you're never too old to learn a new hobby. I think little girls join between 2- 5 however, there are many adult classes and most dance teachers would be willing to have you come along. Best of luck!

I started ballet when I was 18. It was the first dance class I EVER took. So no, I don't think it's too late for you.

As long as you can walk, you are never too old. We have women who are 60+ in our adult ballet class, with absolutely no experience in dance. They aren't dacing to be professionals, they aren't dancing to do the moves perfectly, they are dancing for exercise, health, and coordination. And, most importantly, to have fun!

Never too old, but it is good to start young. Alot of professionals start when they were 2. I started at the age of 3 but I took a couple of years off.

Probably not as old as you think, I've heard of classes offered for adults. Too old would be elderly people with arthritis and can't actually perform any of the moves.

No in no way. i have been in instructions the position there have been adults 35 plus only putting out out dancing for interesting. in case you want to bypass far at the same time with your dancing career it is going to take sometime at the same time with your body getting used to the circulation and adaptableness. So education at abode as a lot as you could helps. assorted the perfect dancers all started dancing later in existence round 18 years previous because it become something they loved extremely than being positioned into it through their father and mom at the same time as they were little :)
