i am stuck in greene NY, for three days on a business trip, there are nothing but farms up here and absolutely no clubs, you have o drive 8 miles for something to eat. how do people manage to survive in these areas. what do they do for fun????

Actually spend real time with real people around them, get to know their neighbors, cook for themselves, have friends over, go for walks, read a book, spend time outside, enjoy the quiet, and basically live life not being caught up in having to "go out" and be seen... or "do" something...just be

The rural life isn't really as bad as what most people think. Now-a-days they have a lot more to do and for most "city folk", it can be a break from all the heavy traffic and noise. If you're going to a farm, take that time to relax.

Sometimes a simple change of scenery is necessary every once in a while. You might find a farm that offers horseback riding, or woods around the area to hike in, maybe even some nice scenery. Not every farm is dirt, pigs, and cow manure, some are more lush than that and everyone spends all day doing manual labor *hint* *hint*.

you get some idea from above answers i want to add some 1 listening to music or playing a musical instrument is great fun if it is not possible to keep speakers in open space in farm try headphone for choosing good headphone see my other answer 2 gardening if there is some land available try planting and raising some fragrant and colorfiull flowers plants

first of all farms grow their own food so they don't need to drive 8 miles, and I'm sure you can find a hoe-down somewhere just check all the barns at night

People whom choose to live in rural areas do the same things that ppl whom live in the city do. Enjoy the stars that you see at night.

I have to drive 8 miles to go to the Grocery Store where I live...and i dont mind one bit. Gets me outta the house...and into Wal-mart Supercenter

Get drunk and frolic naked outside! It's very liberating!

Drive back roads and check out old country churches and farmhouses..... cool architecture sometimes.

Go raid fields for free farmfresh produce! You could do that naked too!

wreck cars, blow stuff up, cow barging, climb trees, ride a bike, clay pidgeon shooting, tractor driving. (the problem lies in that people have forgotten how to entertain themselves without a Tv nowadays)
