Don't let either down. Tell him you would LOVE to go out but you already have plans and if possible can go another time. If he is really in to you that won't be a problem. You can even let him know it's your best friends b-day. If he is any kind of person he will understand. Never let down a best friend, crushes come and go but a true best friend is here to stay.

You'd best just hold off on the secret crush....if that relationship is worth the time and effort, they won't mind waiting a while longer for you.

On the other hand, if you devastate your best friend by bailing on his birthday....you lose a friend and your secret crush may turn out to be nothing more than a dirty secret.

If she is your friend she will want to see you happy. Your friend, your crush and you can all just hang with each other, but just take this down as a note try to distanace yourself so you caan get to know him and distance your self from him so you can spend some time with your friend and if your friend is having a party don't try to be around your crush a lot because there maybe a lot of sexy guyss at the party.

It sounds like you've already been invited to your best friends party - so you should go. If it's understood that you and your best friend do something together on your birthdays, or you've already been invited, you should try to find another time that will work for your crush.

If the crush isn't interested enough to see you some other time, then it's hard to imagine there would be much to the relationship.

Stick with your best friend. While going on a date with the "crush" might be more exciting, supporting your friend on their birthday is really more important. Tell the "crush" that you are so humbled and excited that he would chose you to go on a date, but you must remain true to your friend. Trust me, if you lose him over being loyal to a friend, he isn't worth it. An important rule to live by...if a guy doesn't respect you, your family and your friends, he isn't worth it. Who knows, you might me the real man of your dreams at the birthday party!

You ask him, if he would want to hang out the next day or some other time. But be sure and tell him the importance or your best friend, it's her birthday and you should definatlely be there for her. Plus, there will always be other guys. And I promis you you are young and this is not going to be the guy you marry ( more than likely )

I look at this situation as obvious. Its easier to replace a crush but its harder to replace a friend, A " Best-friend" at that! You gain and lose relationships everyday whether realize it or not, but don't lose the one that you will regret forever. If someone asks you out it means that they are interested in you, if they were really interested in you there interest would not change over a reasonable post-pone date.

Let down your secret crush. Friendship is worth more than any hookup. You can always reschedule a date, but birthday only comes once a year.
