Are 'We The People' losing power? Is the Executive Branch taking control to the point that the Legislative Branch has no power and therefore 'We the People' have no power?

Answer to subquestion 1. Yes
Answer to subquestion 2. No. The executive branch cannot assume powers that are not vested in it except by Congressional authority and cannot assume powers that Congress does not have within the Constitution. Anything that the president does is subject to review by the Judicial Branch and can be found to be unconstitutional. Presidents can only use powers granted by Congress.

My answer to your overall question: Vote out the current career politicians and replace them with regular Americans like you and me. That's what the Constitution was set up for. Representation by the people in the House, and representation of the states in the Senate. There should be no federal government except to the extent necessary to provide for basic needs of the people and protection from our enemies. States should actually be in control of the direction of the "ship" and held in check by the appointed representatives of the people. Don't vote for a Democrat or a Republican. Vote for a candidate that represents what you believe is in the best interest of the country, not the best interest of a social group, an economic group, or any other wannabe majority. Hell, vote for me! I'm a Libertarian.

We have been losing our rights for a while now. The ball is already in motion. We no longer have the right to protect our own flag with our laws. Our morals are given way to "freedom of speech" and special interest groups that only represent a minority of the total population.
The 2nd Ammendment right to bear arms, although it hasn't been eliminated like the left wing and anti-gun people would like, they have found other avenues to remove guns from our hands legally, by making some crimes worse than they normally would have been. (i.e. jaywalking turns into a felony) and then the requirement comes into play that if you are a felon you cannot own a handgun. (I do not fall into that category as yet)
It is just one of many examples.
Have you noticed all the traffic cameras all over the cities? There will be many more in the next few years, according to the seminar provided by Intel in Dallas, May 2006.
We are losing other important rights due to "terrorist threats and suspicions", making us all fair game for wire-tapping, email sniffing by the government, and a wide range of other laws that would not have come about otherwise.
I have always carried a small pocket knife on me to perform parts of my work, but since 9-11 even companies in huge towers with security guards won't allow a 3 inch knife on premises. After being disgusted by this policy so many times, I finally told one of them off saying "what am I going to do with a 3 inch blade? Hijack a building and fly it into a plane?"
It shows just how many freedoms we are losing daily. If we're not careful, we may lose all the ones our country was founded on.

We need to stick to the constitution and remember what our forefathers had in mind. also, be flexable enought to realize times have changed and yes the constitution is in some respects outdated. It more the philosophy or the ideology we as free american need not loose touch with. freedom is not free it take hard work to secure our freedoms. The power were meant to be spread out for the soul purpose of not letting anyone or party have to much power. to much power in the wrong hand is what we need to avoid.

We have the power, however The People are too damn lazy and have the mentality that they have no power. People just have to get off their asses and actually fight injustices and get their voices heard. It's pathetic that a bunch illegals know this and do it, but Citizens can't even fathom the idea.

There is little we can do. The powers that be are much more powerful than most people would like to admit.

All we can do is watch and wait.

Most Americans are happy being part of a sheep herd and don't care and just go with the flow. The bottom line is to get off your butt and vote and get everyone you know to vote as well.

Speaking up and protesting has not helped. We need to get together as "One People" , forget all of this racist Bull S**T and start a second Revolution!

If something isn't done soon, we will all live to regret not standing up at all!
