My family lives in Redding, Ca. And there is 4 pet stores that are selling there dogs and cats illegally. Is there somewhere in Sacramento, Ca. that I can report them?? Or do you have any other ideas.

Just to let you know, 99.9% of pet stores that sell dogs and/or cats in the state of CA. are being sold illegally.

How is it illeagal? Is there really a lisence for this. Maybe just a business lisence. Would it then be illegal to sell puppies on the side of the road?

Good luck in getting the Redding Police Department involved...or Redding Animal Control too...maybe the Shasta County Sheriff?

Between Sacramento and the Oregon border, there aren't that many animal control offices that are city-or-county operated...and most private SPCA's that exist aren't licensed by those counties or cities in Northern CA...

Maybe you can try the Shasta County website(or neighboring Glenn, Tehama, Siskiyou or Colusa Counties)...

HTH...

SPCA, Humane Society, Local Animal Rescue Orginazations. Local police, or Animal Regulators. Your Congressman, any of the Animal rights groups. As you see there are many sources, use them all.

What constitutes illegally? Anyway you should call animal control or the humane society or the spca depending on who does pet policing in your area.

If you have an SPCA organization or Humane Society. I would talk with them first to see if they can take care of it. If neither one of these can help you then go to the police department and ask what you need to do to.

Call your local pound and tell them what is going on. They will either give you another number or they will do something about it themselves. Do something about it if you really think their is a problem.
