For the same reason all the other Bush cronies stay in office: our idea of an accountable government is an illusion. The corporate-military complex continues to benefit from his position. The war machine continually fills the pockets of a whole lot of people....

Who said he was incompetent & dishonest 6 out of hundreds of retired Generals, 8 congressmen - 4 of which are or have run for president. Big Deal! He attended Princeton, was a Navy Captian.
Served as a Congressman at age 30 yrs old. Held the following post in gov (just a few) Director of Economics, Chief of Staff (twice), Ambassador, & numerous boads & presidents of private companies. He is one of the few people that hold the highest civilian award of "Presidential Medal of Freedom". He remains in office because he has earned it & continues to earn it.

That incompetence? What dishonesty? I'm sorry but I don't see how you can make the case for those two points. He was not the "generals" choice so what. He is the civilian leader of the military and they often have conflict because his mission is not their own. Dishonest? How do you figure; because Iraq didn't have WMD's? Guess what...Hillary thought they had them too...and so did Saddams own generals.
