No excercise! Al that is going to do is make it worse. The best things to do is take anti-inflammitories, (naproxen sodium, Aleve), ice it up and rest it. A sling would work well. All tennis elbow is inflamed nerve endings by irritated tissue, so, the more you use it, the worse it will get.

You can't do anything for 1-2 weeks. You have to ice it three times a day for 30 minutes each time. Don't put heat on it, that will just inflame the mucels and make it hurt even more. Tennis elbow is a inflamation of a tendon that is rubbing agains the elbow bone. That is caused by the wrong swing. You need to concentrate that you are swinging infrount of you. Don't take pain killers. It will nake it feel better but you can hurt yourself even more because you cn'r feel what youo are doing. Then when your elbow os better buy a tennis band that is wrapped just infroint of your elbow joint. That will help keep the tendon in place. I had tennis elbow, and it stunk. I couldn't play for 2 weeks, not even volley. I was glad that I caught it early. If I didn't I would have had it durring tennis tryout for school. Good luck.

I had a cortisone shot 5 weeks ago, my elbow felt fine for 3 weeks but then my elbow pain came roaring back worse than before the injection. I have been using this tennis elbow secrets program now for 5 days and my elbow feels much better. I can really feel my arm getting stronger as each day passes.

The stretching is the best relief for the pain. But you really MUST figure out why you got the pain in the first place.
Are you using too small of a grip? This is a common cause of injuries.
Is your technique solid? Too many forehand slices are notorious for causing elbow and wrist pain.
What kind of racquet are you using and what condition is it in?
What kind of string are you using? Try a softer playing synthetic rather than a stiff polyester.

Unless you figure out what caused the pain, and change that specific cause, you will just get it again and again.

First rest, it's difficult but try not to do any lifting of heavy objects
for a week. Also try some range of motion strecthes for your hands, forearms, elbow and shoulders.

Ice it for 20 minutes every day. Then, extend the hurt arm, grab your fingers with the other hand and pull back on it to stretch it out!!
