I used to have this iron that just shot out steam like crazy. It was for curtains and what not. There was no need to lay anything flat & do it the old fashioned way. Check one of those as seen on TV websites I bet they are still out there. It worked great! Otherwise put the dresses in the bathroom when you shower the steam will help get out the wrinkles.

This is what I do for my dance costumes and it might work for your wedding dresses....Its a gentle efficient method.
Turn on your shower to HOT, as hot as it can go. Hang the dresses upside down on a hanger. Shut the door, (and stay out of the bathroom) so the heat and steam can work out the wrinkes. Then after 10 minutes, go back into the bathroom and turn off the shower. Hang them up the right way in your closet for another 10 minutes. Then the wrinkes should be all out. Note: do all of the dresses at once, or else you won't have any hot water left! =)

I would not take any chances and pay the money to have it dry cleaned. They have special irons that do the job better. If there is any soil or stains on the dresses you can not see they might set in with the heat. They can also treat them that will make them last longer, pack them into boxes that will keep them like new.

You can NOT iron a wedding dress but you can steam it. Or hang it in the bathroom and leave the hot water running in the shower without the vent on helps too.

Um gosh i dont have a wedding dress but i have this one really delicate cream colored blouse that is made of satin. What i do sometimes when i dont have time to go and get it steamed i get a pot of boiling water and i put my shirt on a hanger and hold it over the evaporating steam......its worked for my shirt....maybe it will work for your dresses. But be careful dont drop it or accidently let the ruffles touch the stove top or something. Good luck honey.

As important as a wedding dress is I would just take it to the dry cleaner and pay the extra. It probably needs to be professionally steamed.

Take a HOT shower and have them hanging on the back of the bathroom door, don't turn the fan on and make it like a shanna in there. It should steam the straight, it works for my mom's shirts, I don't know why it wouldn't work for a wedding dress, GOOD LUCK!! luv~carly

Steam ironing. There are steam irons i think you can get at Bed Bath and Beyond. Not sure though. It would be cheaper to steam them yourself, and better on the fabric to steer clear of metal irons. Best of luck!

You can't iron them. You have to hang them and use a steam iron or a steamer and steam the wrinkles out. It takes a little while, but you don't have to worry about burning them.

your not suppose to iron it. buy a steamer they have cheap ones for about 20$ your suppose to steam the dress and the wrinkles will disappear and its best if you buy a dress bag to keep it fresh and in best condition thats what they do at the bridal shops
