Yes kids ages 5 -8 can do simple word searches. 5 is not to young.

I think 5 is a good age to start simple word searching it gets the kids familiar with their letters and simple words. maybe you could start with 3 & 4 letter simple words they they can identify easily.

I don't see anything wrong with letting children try different things. There are some really great sites on the web for children that age. Or you can try some books on their age level. My son has been on the net since he was about 4 and he 10 now. We monitor all that he does on here. I think if they want to try word puzzles let them. It's not going to hurt them.

Yes they can do simple word searches, with big letters, and five is not to young. I don't believe a child is never to young to be introduced to learning new things. They'll need your help, but be patient with them, and God Bless!

When it comes to that, no age is too young. When I have kids and if they want to read or try to read, it's not my business to stop them. If they have the want or need to expand their vocabulary, let them. If 10-15 year olds can go to college, anything is possible when it comes to education.
