True, but off a little.

The helicopter was invented after Chuck Norris was observed doing 8 roundhouse kicks a second.

Are you referring to a martial arts move named "The Helicopter," one in wrestling by that same name, or the actual aircraft?

If it's the aircraft, you are REALLY wrong and someone played you for a sucker. The very first PICTURE of a machine that someday became the helicopter (the drawing was an idea and the real machine was very different) was by Leonardo da Vinci. Years before the Wright Brothers flew in 1903, someone built a model of a steam-powered aircraft much like a helicopter and it really FLEW. But a full-sized version never got off the ground.

Auto-gyros and "rotating wing" aircraft similar to helicopters were in the air before World War II - one was used with ill luck in WWI, in fact. The German Luftwaffe fielded the first such aircraft to see comabt in WWII.

The first REAL helicopter was developed by Russian emigre Igor Sikorsky in 1939. He and several Russian designers had worked on ideas for this in the 1930's, too. The first successful helicopter flight in the United States was in 1940, using Sikorski's design.

Chuck Norris, by the way, didn't invent "the helicopter" move in wrestling, either.

Yes, that is true. Chuck Norris drank a gallon of JP-5 jet fuel, and roundhouse kicked himself from New York to Los Angeles in 45 minutes, but took so long because he wanted to see the sights...

Aw, come on. That quote was just a compliment to how quickly Chuck Norris can kick.

According to Cliff, the postman from Cheers, that is indeed a known fact.

He didn't invent it, but I'm sure they've blown some up in his movies.
