Because they don't have their own life! The parents should have made sure that they put each other first because when the kids leave they are still with each other. They lost track of their own lives to each other and did everything for the kids, now they just exist and still feel they should be in the kids life like they did when they were young. Reintroduce your parents and set up a date night for them, maybe with any hope, they'll back out of your life a little more.

Because they are responsible for you and your actions until your 18. Plus they also love and care about you and want to do what they feel is best for you and to protect you. Sure, they sometimes mess up but at least they are there for you and care. Be thankful for having parents that care enough to interfere in your life, there are a lot of kids out there that aren't nearly so lucky.

because that is their job is to raise their children. the time parents has in many ways is not long enough. they are not there to form your future they are there to prepare you for your future. Children these days think they have to rush through their childhood and be somebody and although i think everyone should, the time when you should be doing this is when your parents job is finished. most children buck up against their parents around the age 16 and think their parents are too controlling but this is not the case in 2 short years they become adults and then they can decide what is best for them but what is the rush to do it before 18.

Because they love you and want what is best for you. We don't always make the wisest choices as kids, so as a parent they are just trying to guide you and help you from becoming hurt or involved in something that could be harmful to you. Remember parents were kids at one time, too,

Parents are trying to give advice based upon their experiences. But, kids do often need to learn things, good or bad, on their own.

lot's of good answers. take thier advice for sure. listen to your parents. but if you think this goes away when you're 18 your kidding yourself. but it's a lot easier to handle if you don't have to live with them.
i'm 39 and my mother still gripes about things i've done, or things i will do soon. that's ok though she can say what she wants and i can do what i want. i still love her.
but it's always good to listen to them. they prolly know what they are talking about because they have tried it or know someone who has. things will seem different for you too when you get older.

Because they worry. That's that. Most parents who are that concerned just want you to have a good life and make good choices. They worry about their kids, wouldn't you?
