Wait are you switiching from private to public. (If not, you should already know the school) Anyway, I just graduated middle school and I can tell you eigth grade was easy. So what if it's a big school. You've gone to new places before and you'll get used to it within a couple of days. And the first week, teachers always accept the excuse "I got lost". Eighth grade should be fun, it's your last year before you head onto high school. The only differences between eighth grade and the grades before it are new subjects and more activities. I got Dorney Park, Hershey Park, a Fun Day, and Medieval Times. So CALM DOWN.

well first stop freaking out. If its a public school just be capable of standing up for yourself and dont get on peoples bad side, dont be dramatic... 8th grade is not too much different from 7th. plus in many schools it makes you the big dog because 8th grade is the oldest in the biulding.. it is a fun year so relax and have fun this summer. Try to meat k,ids that are going to the same school in the fall.

Naturally, as you move up in grade level, it gets harder, academically. More is expected of you, also. Believe me most people get scared of being lost. My advice for that is to go to the school during the summer, assuming that is is open, and take a tour and get familiar with the layout of the school. Most schools have dates for open house; definitely go to that. I went to public schools all through my school years. It's not all that bad. Because you are going to a new school next year, make friends with the kids your age from your neighborhood. They are the ones most likely to go to your school after the summer. Last piece of advice, don't give in to peer-pressure. It's all around; in public or private school. Try to participate in extra-curricular activities; this will help you academically, socially, and can keep you in shape. So have fun and don't worry; 8th grade should be fun. I hope this relieves you of your fears a little. Best wishes to your future.

No. You are overreacting with the summer jitters. 8th grade can be the funnest year of your life. You will be graduating! I just graduated 8th grade this year and i feel like i have a whole new outlook on life. I feel free to look the way i want, to talk to the people i want to talk to etc..... so what i am trying to say is that you should look at 8th grade with a positive attitude and just think 1 more year and you will have a new reputation and everything so don't sweat on it! Hope You have Fun....And Good Luck Later ON in Life! =]

You should try to relax and remember that a lot of the other kids are freaked too. You could say 8th grade is hard, you have to study hard to get the grades. Good Luck, and remember you really aren't the only one going through this.

If you got through seventh grade, you can get through eighth. They don't suddenly make the schoolwork tons harder to see who they can flunk.
Almost everybody has to start a new school sometime and it's nerve-wracking, but you get through it. After a day or two, you will realize that you can find your way around, that you're starting to see some familiar faces and that most of the older kids are probably not as interested in making your life miserable as you think they might be right now.
Don't ruin your summer by worrying about it! You will make the adjustment and find your own niche at your new school.

8th grade will be over before you know it and you will be a graduate going into college with confidence. Don't spend time worrying about things like getting lost and other kids, it will all pass and you will wonder where the time went to. Appreciate the time as it is, and live it. Concern yourself with your studies and skills in school, and you'll be just fine. I promise.

you will find it is much easier then you thought once you get there...you should be excited but not nervous.one thing you can do to help is this summer have your mom call the school and see if it would be possible to go and tour the school ahead of time..i know in most schools the sectary is usually there or if summer school is in a session maybe a teacher could help with the tour..that way you will get to know your way around and reach out in your community to other kids that go there or did go to that school and become friends and ask them a ton of questions..they will prob tell you half of your fears are needless.....and for now relax and enjoy the summer...only have a few more years of them so enjoy your childhood..

You definitely need to calm down. Although 8th grade may seem terrifying to you at the current time it is really not a big deal. While you may need time to adjust to your new school you will be fine. Just don't worry and enjoy it while you can. Time flies!
