cos my children always give up their seats if anyone else needs it,including pregnant women, mothers with pushchairs,or most people older than themselves but we still get nasty glances off the oldies, cant seem to do right for wrong these days!

Sounds like these old folk have an exagerated sense of entitlement. Maybe they think that they deserve your respect because of their age. I think a mother struggling with children on public transportation deserves a break! They say everyone wants the front of the bus, the middle of the road and the back of the church. Hang in there. It sounds like you are a good mom.

Because they have been walking round shopping all day. You wait till you get old but, till then, go and sit somewhere else or give up your seat before you're asked!

Me, I prefer to ride on the top deck or further back where the seats are a bit more comfortable. I may have earned free bus travel but I'm otherwise pretty fit.

I do like to see young people giving consideration to others, though - something that's sadly lacking these days, which is why they have to put up notices.

Listen, there aren't many advantages to getting old (wrinkles, incontinence, losing your teeth, grey hair come to mind) so surely you don't begrudge the oldies a seat on a bus. The reason they are allocated those seats is that they are far more likely to 'need' to sit down after a lot of walking than an a younger person.
You miserable toad! :-)

Behave! Have some compassion. We're going to be in their shoes some day u know. Why do they have to walk further than the second seat in a bus, anyway?

LOL!!! Good question. It's kinda like the people you see with a handicap tag on there car but when they get out, they seem perfectly fine to me!! But, maybe the older folks use all their energy shopping and carrying all those bags!

They smell of wee and know it so they sit on the front seats so that the smell can waft back to everyone else. They just sit there grinning. stinking and eating murry mints.
