Have you considered going to a legal loan shark aka check cashing/cash advance place? Yes the APR you pay is outrageous, but $15 or $20 per $100 is a lot less than a bounced check fee. If you get too many bounced check fees your bank can close the account and report you to chex systems. If that happens you can't open a checking account for 5 years.

Well, silly don't write bad checks that only cost you more money. The bank will get the money from you either way. Also try to get an open line of credit to back your account, that way if the money isn't there then the credit will pay for it and you won't have fees. You could also open a savings account at a different bank and set your direct deposit to that account, or an allotment. The other bank can't go to the other bank to get your money. But, once you owe, you owe. They will get it one way or the other. The best bet really is not to write bad checks. Pay more attention to your account.

Open an account at a different bank and move the money... quick.
Or, don't bounce checks.

Washington Mutual has the best offer, free checking and they waive one over draft fee per year. I love their big bank commercials, they're so true.

Open a personal line of credit and use that to back your checking account.
If you are not approved for a personal line of credit, then I suggest you take a good hard look at your spending patterns.
