I think you probably nailed it - the timing was perfect for
conception. A pregnancy test would show positive in the
last days of July and the first of August. Always use your
first morning urine when preforming the test -this makes
it much more reliable. Also do not take vitamin C cause
that can alter the pregnancy test. Good Luck!

Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it to anyone trying to conceive. As far as the answer to your question. Everyone's cycle is different, how do you know that you ovulated on day 27, were you taking basal temps. and checking other fertility signs. If so, then you probably know what your average luteal phase is, that is the time from the day you ovulate to the day you start your period. Most women average anywhere from 12-17 days give or take. A sure sign of pregnancy then would be if you have 18 consecutive high temps after the day you ovulate since temps usually drop around period time. I wouldn't test until around the 15th of July because if you test sooner you could end up with a false negative since there isn't enough hcg in your urine yet. By the 15th if you are pregnant it should show up on any standard pregnancy test. Hope this helps and I wish you lots of luck.

This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive. My Doctor recommended it to me and after 1 year of trying I got the book. It worked the very next month. It turns out that my timing was wrong due to mis-information. I hope it helps you, too! It's not only about getting pregnant. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

u should wait til a week after u miss ur period. having sex around the days of u ovulating is not enough. u need to do it in positions that will use gravity to move the sperm to the egg. like doggy, man on top, side ways. sperm can survive in the vagina for up to 5 days and the egg can only be fertilized within 24 hrs of being released. doin it frequently also helps and having fun with it helps too. when u get pregnant that will be that perfect moment. u will not get pregnant til ur suppose to get pregnant. and its always better when things happen out the blue!

True. Go read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It teaches all about these things. I'm reading it right now b/c of someone on Yahoo Answers and I have learned a lot about concieving and about a woman's body (specifically, my own!) Have sex again today and tomorrow to increase your chances. You can test on the first day of your missed period. But remember, even that can still be to early. So if you get a negative then, wait a week and test again. Take care.

well sperm can last for 3 days inside you.. so even if you ovulated late and it would be on the 29..you could still get pregnant...you should wait untill the day after you are expecting your period and if it comes (-) and your period still hasnt came yet take another in about a week after the first test was taken

you ovulate 14 days before the start of your next period

so 14 days from the 27th you can reliably test for pregnancy
