Tylenol, heating pad, or use Ben-Gay/Icy Hot. There isn't much else you can do, unfortunately. Some doctors will prescribe Vicodin, but they are few and far between.
Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, keep an eye on your posture, and don't overdo it. Don't lift anything over 30 pounds.
Try doing yoga, as well. It will help stretch out your muscles. Good luck!

Sadly, nothing really. Stay away from aspirin and asprirn products for sure. They are a blood thinner and could cause problems should you go into labor. Tylenol is usually the only thing a doctor will allow. Its just one of those fun things you must endure while pregnant unfortunately. However, I did notice that the more I laid down to relieve the back ache, the worse it got LOL! So try to walk around.

When I was pregnant, in my 2nd trimester, I started experiencing alot of pain in my ribs. It turns out the baby was pressing on my ribs b'cuz my belly was very small, and my ribs were opening. My doctor prescribed Tylenol. He said that was the only thing strong enough 4 the pain but gentle on the baby. I was popping pill like I was crazy & my son is very healthy 2 this day.

DON"T USE MOTRIN or IBUPROFEN - those are contraindicated for pregnancy in certain stages of the pregnancy. If unsure talk with your doctor.
Here's something totally natural that works wonders for me, but you have to do it when you can remain sitting.
Take a tube sock, fill it with instant UNCOOKED rice. sew the open end up. Put the sock in the microwave for about 1 minute. Natural heating pad that won't hurt the baby. They did this for me when I was in labor at the Labor & delivery unit at the hospital.
Congratulations on the baby.

The best thing to do is stay away from asprin. But, what you could do to alleiviate the pain is to drink some White willow tea. you can get it at a health Food store. I use it when I have an ache & it works without the stomach irritation you get with asprin.Good Luck.

Be sure your bra is the right size, and providing enough support. I had horrible lower back pains after birth, which turned out to be due to a bra that was too large (not enough support).
After trying to eliminate the pain through physical means (good bra, light exercise to strengthen muscles, etc.) -- talk to your physician. S/he can recommend something which is appropriate for your personal health.

Try one of those old fashioned hot watter bottles at the drug store. You can start with cold water then change to hot. And there is no electrical current like a heating pad... I used one while I was pregnant, and now I use it when I get cramps. Hang in there!!!

Before doing anything consult your medical professional about the back pain. It may be a more serious event other than just back pain.

Well, you can try Tylenol or heat. But you've probably been told that. You can try waddling like a penquin which I was told by my doctor and it worked like a charm during both my pregnancies.
And you know it what it comes naturally, especially during the last three months. Give it a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised!
